This is what it looks like folded into proper shape; makes me eager to start knitting the missing sleeves! |
The border is to be seamed and then attached to the back. I think I will graft the pieces (Kitchener stitch) instead of a three-needle bind-off to avoid a welt. For the same reason I will probably knit the border in the round if I make it again.

Ingenious indeed, and it looks like a fun knit. I really like the yarn you've chosen. Can't wait to see it all finished :)
It's an interesting cosntruction but I can see why you'd want to knit the border in the round. And now you make me want to find this yarn!
ÅhÅ , nu vet jag vem jag ska fråga när jag ska sticka min "fan" ! Man kan lugnt säga att lösningen är smart!
Annie: it is indeed a fun knit - and suddenly so quick once you start decreasing.
Fluffbuff: the yarn is wonderful, but won't be available for much longer. Apparently a lot of it was stolen, so much they don't want to produce new of the same kind to replace it but will focus on other yarns instead. It's BC Lucca Fino Tweed. Hope you can get hold of it!
Ylva: visst är det en fantastisk modell? Har du planer på garn och färg? Nyfiken! Det är så kul med olika versioner av samma mönster.
Up to now I do not understand the construction of the FAN. However I will wait until the FAN is complete.
Intriguing! I love the border, and look forward to seeing the finished product.
What an amazing looking design!
