1940s Fantasy

Must have been bitten by the jitterbug or something - here's a fiancée in progress for the 1940s cardigan I made a couple of months ago. This too is 2ply wool from Kampes.

I found inspiration in knitting magazine from 1947.


Speaking of inspiration, have you seen Ylva's cuffs with carnations? Isn't she a bit like Midas, turning cuffs into gold by touching them with needle and thread?

    Oh gosh! Den där var snygg, och snabbt går det också som en jitterbugg, synd att man blir så varm att dansa annars skulle den vara perekt ! Tackl för din fina kommentar om mina muddar ( rodnar lite ) :-)

    I love the design set into the bed of reverse stocking stitch. And the colour is gorgeous. Gee, we have become generally bigger than we were in the l940's. Or am I just looking at myself? Beautiful work.

    That's going to be lovely. (But can you explain the phrase "fiancée in progress"?) Clever you to remake an older pattern.
